While it might seem unrelated, it's very related to have Kanye (or anyone else who believes in freedom of speech) buying platforms.

Former President Donald Trump tried it with Truth Social, but it only attracted his supporters and failed to get more mainstream acceptance.

Parler was the closest to replacing Twitter as a neutral platform, until Elon was in talks to buy it. Now that it's stalled, we have to see where we go from here.
